What’s new in Pythagoras CAD? Discover the upcoming major release!
A new major release of Pythagoras CAD is coming, bringing new features and improvements designed to make everyday surveying workflows faster, easier and more flexible.
From dynamic reports and new annotation possibilities to editing terrain models directly in 3D: here’s a first look at some of the highlights.
1. Reports that stay in sync with your drawing
One of the major improvements in the new release is Dynamics.
Object lists and coordinate lists can now be dynamic, which means they stay connected to the objects in your drawing. When something changes in the drawing, the linked information can update accordingly.
Dynamic profiles have also been improved, making it easier to keep drawings and their related information consistent.
Change your drawing, and your reports change with it.
2. Bring data directly into your drawing
A new Data Annotation type gives you another way to present project information directly inside your drawing.
These annotations can be used to create tables based on your data and can also be dynamic. This makes it easier to present relevant information clearly without having to manually update separate tables when your project changes.
3. Edit terrain models directly in 3D
Working with Digital Terrain Models becomes more intuitive with new 3D editing possibilities.
You can edit the DTM while viewing it in 3D, including operations such as deleting individual triangles or changing point elevations. This gives surveyors more direct control over the terrain model and makes it easier to spot and correct elements that need adjustment.
The release also includes several additional DTM improvements, from creating terrain models based on extruded polygons to improvements when adjusting heights, projecting objects and calculating volumes.
4. More possibilities for elevation and design
Elevation tools are becoming more flexible too.
Several design elevation features that were previously limited to specific objects can now also be used with regular lines. You can change elevations directly and work with new elevation-based drawing possibilities.
MinZ and MaxZ information can also be included in object lists for regular lines, giving you easier access to useful elevation data.
5. Small improvements that make a big difference
Not every improvement needs to be a major new feature. The new release also introduces a range of changes to tools surveyors use every day.
You’ll find more options for renumbering points, the possibility to unpack a path into individual line objects, improvements to creating parallel objects and additional options when working with solid extrusions.
We’ve also added some practical interface improvements to make Pythagoras more comfortable to use.
6. Faster and sharper rendering
Finally, we’re continuing our work on 2D rendering performance.
The new release includes further performance optimisations as well as improved support for Windows display scaling. Pythagoras and its interface now scale more consistently across different display settings, resulting in a sharper and more comfortable working environment.
