Accessing the Cloud License Backup

In situations where the cloud license server is unavailable or unstable, it may be necessary to temporarily access a license backup. This backup license can be activated locally so that users can continue working while the cloud server is restored. The procedure below explains how to activate the backup license and how to verify that it has been added correctly.

1. Open a web browser on the machine where you want to use the license.

2. Run the following activation link (either click it or paste it into the address bar):

http://localhost:1947/_int_/install.html?identity=licenses-support.pythagoras.net

3. Click on Install

4. The Sentinel Admin Control Center (ACC) page will open and process the activation.

If the activation completes without errors, the backup license has been imported locally.

2. Verify that the backup license is available

1. In your browser, go to http://localhost:1947/_int_/config_to.html page.
Under Remote License Search Parameters, the host
licenses-support.pythagoras.net
is listed.

This means the link to the backup license has been configured successfully.

2. Go to http://localhost:1947/_int_/devices.html.
On this Devices page, verify the following:
If the primary cloud license server is down or unstable, you should see the backup license 864920193146963419 listed among the available licenses.

If the license is listed, try to launch Pythagoras with this license

3. Important notes

  • The backup license is only intended for scenarios where the cloud license server is not active or not stable.
  • When the cloud license server is working normally, this backup license may not be visible or in use, even if the activation link was executed successfully.
  • Do not distribute or use the backup license as a permanent replacement for the cloud license server.
